ATTENTION MEMBERS!

ATM/POS FEE (ISA FEE)

Effective September 1, 2006 your credit union purchased 2 ATM machines and had them installed at our 2 locations.  This was done so that you could have a “fee free” access to your funds 24/7.  If you use someone else’s ATM to make a withdrawal you are charged a fee, usually $2.00 but what you may not know, we are also charged a fee.  After careful evaluation, we have decided that we can no longer absorb this transaction fee from “foreign” ATM’s and so beginning September 1,2006  this fee will be passed on to our member making the transaction.  This fee will be $1.00 per cash withdrawal and $ .50 per PIN DEBIT/POS (point of sale) transaction.  We’re sorry if this puts any undue hardship on our membership but remember any withdrawals from our ATM’s are still free.

************************************************************************************Phishing

"Phishing" is a high tech internet scam that uses spam or pop up messages to deceive you into disclosing your credit card numbers, bank acount information, social security number, passwords, or ther sensitive information.

Below are a few tips that can help you avoid becoming the next  victim of Phishing:

  • The Post Office Employees Federal Credit Union NEVER sends members an email asking for account information.
  • Do not respond to any email requests for personal financial information.
  • Delete any suspicious emails.
  • Never disclose any personally identifying information if requested from an unsolicited email or phone call.  This includes account information, credit card information, social security number, mother's maiden name, or other private information.  Never reveal a private PIN number or other passwords.
  • Be suspicious if you are asked to enter personally identifying information into an unexpected pop up window - no matter how "official" it might look.

Review your credit union statement for any unauthorized charges.
